Raid: Animations

Section 7.C.6

Various animations are included with this plugin both in battle and in the overworld. In this subsection, I'll go over all of the animations added by this plugin.

Battle Transitions

Each type of raid battle has its own unique battle transition animation that showcases the raid species. TheAse animations first show a blackened silhouette and then gradually reveal the hidden species. The animation for each raid type is identical apart from the background elements that appear behind the Pokemon sprite.

Example of a Tera Raid battle transition.

Raid Battle Animations

There are various animations specifically used during raid battles related to certain raid mechanics. Here are all of the raid-exclusive animations that you can expect to see:

Raid Shield Animations

There are several animations related to a raid Pokemon's raid shield. One that animates a shield when it is first summoned, another when it takes damage, and another which is used when the raid shield is broken.

Animations for initiating, damaging, and destroying a raid shield.

Extra Raid Action Animation

Whenever a raid Pokemon performs an extra raid action, an animation will play to indicate this. The animation will be a simple ring of energy that extends outwards from the raid Pokemon.

Animation indicating an extra raid action is being used.

Raid Failure Animation

Whenever you are prematurely kicked out of a raid battle due to one of the raid counters reaching zero before you defeated the raid Pokemon, an animation will play to indicate that you've been blown out of the raid. This animation is the same as the flee animation used for wild Pokemon, except it will show all Pokemon on your side of the field fleeing simultaneously instead.

Animation used when the player is prematurely blown out of a den.
